Accessibility statement

The Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography (Leibniz-Institut für Länderkunde e. V.) is committed to ensuring that its website is accessible to all users. This accessibility statement applies to the website visualisationconflictpeace.de

Accessibility Status

This website is partially compliant with the requirements of the German Ordinance on Accessible Information Technology (BITV 2.0) and the EU standard EN 301 549, which is based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

Non-accessible Content

The filter function within the full-text search is currently only partially accessible. While the search itself can be used without barriers, the filtering of search results is not fully accessible. We are working to improve accessibility and to remove these barriers in the future.

The following areas are not yet fully accessible:

  • Interactive maps and visualizations: Some map-based applications and interactive visualizations are not fully accessible for keyboard navigation or screen readers.Interactive maps, galleries, and forms
  • PDF documents: Some PDF files provided on this website are not fully accessible. We are working to gradually make these documents accessible or to provide accessible alternatives.
  • Forms and embedded content: Some forms and third-party embedded content may not be fully accessible.

Due to the large number of legacy content items and documents, sufficient resources are not currently available in all cases to ensure a comprehensive accessible revision. We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our website and to remove existing barriers.

In cases where the required effort would be disproportionate, assessments are carried out in accordance with Article 5 (“Disproportionate burden”) of Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

Preparation of this Accessibility Statement

This statement was created on March 10, 2026. When the site was developed, all aspects of accessibility were taken into account for the standard elements. This was not possible when integrating third-party content, particularly interactive map applications. The statement was last reviewed on March 22, 2026.
